Annabolic Times-Excuse Me, Who is Leading Your Life?

Energy leadership? My husband recently retired after 25 years in private practice as an estate planning attorney. He would often have clients ask if he would prepare for them a living will. Sometimes, however, clients would confuse the term living will with living trust or some other type of document that dealt with assets. (A living will deals with life-sustaining medical care.) My husband said that the living will was perhaps the most poorly named estate planning document as it often led to this confusion.

I must admit that I have a similarly poorly titled moniker with which I deal. I am a certified Energy Leadership coach. It is a method of coaching that is an invaluable tool for a myriad of situations. Yet, a common response I get is that the client is not a “leader”, so he or she doesn’t really have a need for this type of assistance.

The term “leadership”, as it is used within the Energy Leadership process, is how you interact with everyone, including yourself. Parents, therapists, soloprenuers, consultants, mentors, partners or spouses in relationships, teachers, and others who interact with people on a regular basis are all leaders with respect to those relationships. Everyone is a leader either by choice or by default.

Energy Leadership uses principles of emotional intelligence combined with other relational and intrapersonal systems. Through using this model, you find that there are no limits to the potential growth that you can achieve. Once that you realize that your level of consciousness and how you relate to others directly correlates to your actions, you can move from functioning effectively to functioning optimally.

While Energy Leadership is an awesome tool for anyone who wants to relate to his or her fellow human beings in a more effective way, I have found it to be particularly useful for solo and small entrepreneurs.   After learning and applying the principles of Energy Leadership, clients find a resulting increase in performance of small business organizations, including impacts to the bottom line.
