Annabolic Times-May, 2012 Journal Entries are Not Just for Accountants

You must have control of the authorship of your own destiny. The pen that writes your life story must be held in your own hand.” ~Irene C. Kassorla

The Write Path

If you are taking the time to read this newsletter (and I thank you for doing so), it’s a pretty good bet that you are looking to design a new and better life. As you begin the work of creating a fantabulous future, it’s important to remember that you came into this world as a creative being. Whatever you’ve created so far, YOU created it; so bless it and move forward!

Each and every component that makes up your life experience is drawn to you by the Law of Attraction’s response to the thoughts you think and the story you tell about your life.  Your money and financial assets; your body’s state of wellness, clarity, flexibility, size and shape; your work environment, how you are treated, work satisfaction, and rewards—indeed, the very happiness of your life in general—is all happening because of the thoughts you think and the story that you tell.
One of the things that I suggest to my clients is to journal.    My journaling process combines one of the oldest methods of self-exploration and expression—keeping a journal—with a structured format that helps you get to know your inner core on a deeper level and gain fuller perspective of where you are, how you got there and where you want to go.
The mission of creating your life is yours—should you choose to accept it. Make no mistake; it is absolutely possible to relinquish the power of life-authorship.  It is also possible to reclaim it.  And this is where your reclamation begins!
When people live in the past or on pure happenstance, they are essentially electing to relinquish their power of life authorship.   This is, in effect, giving their power away.  They put themselves last, do what others think they should do, and live their lives based on the actions or opinions of others.  These types of behavior often place them in “victim” mode.
Make no mistake; this does not have to be YOU.  Life does not have to be something that just “happens” to you.  You have more a say in your future than you might imagine.  Stop being a victim and begin your journey to fulfillment.  Now!  All you need to do is reclaim your pen.
I had an epiphany when I was co-authoring The Graveyard Gambit with my husband (one of the forever-featured books on my website, OF COURSE).  We created the characters; their lives were in our hands!  We wrote their stories one thought and one word at a time JUST AS WE DO OUR OWN.   What became apparent to me was that if I could make a better life for my characters, I could do the same for me.  With a little planning and writing their lives were defined.  This applies to you too!   The work that you are going to do in this series is like writing a novel in which you are the main character.
Why should YOU write your story?  First off, you are the best person for the job.  In doing so, you will uncover what has shaped your life so far. By examining your thought process around those things, and, if needed, connecting more empowering thoughts and feelings to them, you can create the world you choose, and make your present even more of a gift than it is right now.  No, I am not suggesting that you make things up (although that has it’s own element of fun).  What I am suggesting is that you change your perspective. Awareness of your thoughts is the first step and action is the second.
Composing your life story (past-present-future) will help you connect the dots and recognize the patterns and events impacting your life and how they are doing so.  It may also help you to tap into memories that guide you to your true passion.  With pen and pencil (or computer and keyboard) and my e-book, you will learn a process that gets you reacquainted with the person deep inside, the “you” that may have been locked away behind doors you inadvertently shut yourself.
Do you want to be healthier?  You might say, “What a dumb question, of course!”  Science has proven that thoughts and emotions cause physical effects.  The mind-body continuum is a strong one because your thoughts produce chemicals in your body that either support your health or diminish it.  In other words, your biography becomes your biology.  Let’s start by imagining that you have a terminal illness.  I bet you intuitively knew you should not imagine this, and you would be CORRECT.  You shouldn’t imagine yourself ill anymore that you should imagine yourself broke, alone or anything else that you fear.  What you may find as you do the exercises in this series is that you are thinking these types of things and not even realizing it.   If we become what we think about (and we absolutely do) it’s time to make sure that your thinking is on track.  If it isn’t, it’s time to change course.
Many people think there is a predetermined way to write their stories. Surprise—it is already written in your mind—it’s your perception that counts. You can journal your story in whatever way works best for you. Some individuals like to write their story from past to present, some prefer to go from present to past. Still others prefer to focus only on the major events of their lives. Any way that works for you is your best way. Keep in mind, if it doesn’t work for you; it doesn’t work!
