The best reason to join the entrepreneurial revolution

There are two types of Fortune 500 jobs: those positions which were eliminated in the last several years, and those positions which will be eliminated in the next five. At which job are/were you working?

With all the political banter about “job killers” or “job creators”, one salient fact remains. Businesses do not exist create jobs. Businesses exist to earn a profit. That profit is then funneled through to the owners, be they shareholders or proprietors.

Moreover, larger companies now realize they can achieve the same or greater profits with fewer employees. From an economic standpoint, this is actually a good thing, as it makes the company more efficient. If you are one whose job was eliminated, it’s not such a good thing.

The best job security and the best means to achieving the middle class lifestyle to which we all aspire or want to maintain, is “me, myself & mine, Inc.” While Daniel Pink may term it “Free Agent Nation”, the new paradigm to make your way in the new economy is become an entrepreneur. To fail to do so is to risk being left behind.
